The upper surface of leaves is shinier than the lower surface due to the presence of more palisade cells. The palisade cells have many chloroplasts to help with photosynthesis that give dark green color to the upper surface. The shiny appearance is due to a thick cuticle layer on the upper surface.

Answer: The upper surface of the leaf is more greener and shinier than the lower surface because the upper surface contains more green colour pigment as compared to the lower surface and upper surface is more shinier because the upper cuticle layer is more thicker than the lower.
