In multicellular organisms, life begins as a single cell until Fertilization occurs, causing growth.
There are 2 gametes - Female (egg/ovum) and male (sperm). When the sperm meets ovum, fertilization takes place and a zygote is formed.
After this the growth starts resulting in embryo then foetus then a multicellular organism.
