you get Rs 100

1st you spend Rs 40
remaining = 100 - 40 = Rs 60

2nd you spend Rs 30
remaining = 60 - 30 = Rs 30

3rd you spend 18
remaining = 30 - 18 = 12

4th you spend 12
remaining = 12 - 12 = 0

don't count the remains after spending

Another example
you got 100 Rs

1st day
spent = Rs 0, remains = 100

2nd day
spent = Rs 0, remains = 100

3rd day
spent = Rs 0, remains = 100

if you count it, you get,
spent money = Rs 0
Remaining money = Rs 300

which is not true
