when the exam had been started its motto was to know the ability of a student,how he read his lessons.

obviously if there is no exam many students Wil not study. there are very few students who study for knowledge. so most of the students Wil not study at all.

and yes obviously it tests the real ability of students if the exam has been taken fairly........
