in my wallet there are 100 rupees only if I have thrice the number of 10 rupee notes as that of 20 rupee notes, how many notes of each kind I have

Answer:- There are 2 notes of rupees 20 and 6 notes of rupees 10.

Solution:-

Let  the number of 20 rupees notes in wallet  be x

then number of 10 rupees notes in wallet = three times the number of 20 rupees notes

=3× the number of 20 rupees notes=3x

Total money in wallet=100= number of 20 rupees notes+number of 10 rupees notes=20x+10(3x)=20x+30x=50x

⇒50x=100

⇒x=2

∴The number of 20 rupees notes in wallet =x=2

∴The number of 10 rupees notes in wallet=3x=3(2)=6
