In the metal reactivity series, aluminium is at the top and gold is at the bottom. This means that aluminium is very much reactive while gold is very less reactive (almost noble). So Aluminium reacts easily with earthly things and other metals like calcium carbonate, to form other compounds. But gold easily cannot react with other substances, so it is found in free state
