Given :- In normal distribution what is the ratio of QD:MD:SD ?

Solution :-

we know that, for normal distribution ,

  • An empirical relation between standard deviation (SD), mean deviation about mean (MD) and quartile deviation(QD) is :- 4SD = 5MD = 6QD .

so,

→ 6QD = 5MD

→ QD/MD = 5/6

→ QD : MD = 5 : 6

and,

5MD = 4SD

→ MD/SD = 4/5

→ MD : SD = 4 : 5

then,

→ QD : MD : SD = (5 * 4) : (6 * 4) : (6 * 5) = 20 : 24 : 30 = 10 : 12 : 15 (Ans.)

Answer:

10 : 12 : 15

Step-by-step explanation:

An empirical relation between standard deviation (SD), mean deviation about mean (MD) and quartile deviation(QD) is :-

4SD = 5MD = 6QD.

so,

SD : MD : QD = 15 : 12 : 10 .
