The total amount of corn produced in the second month is 405 pounds.

GIVEN:

Amount of corn produced by the farmer in one month = 300punds

Percentage difference of corn produced in the following month = 35%

TO FIND:

The total amount of corn produced in the second month.

SOLUTION :

We can simply solve the above problem as follows :

It is given to us :

Amount of corn produced by the farmer in one month = 300punds

second month the production was 35% more of the previous month

so, 35% of 300 = (35/100)× 300

= 105

so the farmer produced 105 pounds more in following month

total amount of corn produced =300+ 105

= 405 pounds.

The total amount of corn produced in the second month is 405 pounds.

Answer:

405 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Concept= Percentage

Given= Production of corns and the increase percentage

To Find= The increased production in second month

Explanation=

We have been given that in one month, a farmer produces 300 pounds of corn and produces 35% more in the following month.

We need to find the production in the second month.

Production in First month= 300 pounds

so the increased percentage will be added in the next month.

The increased percentage of second month is 35%

therefore value of 35% of 300 will be

35/100 * 300

=> 35*3= 105pounds

So the increased 35% production is 105 pounds.

This increased production is in second month so it will be added in it.

Initial of second month was same as first so 300pounds

Second after increased will be 300 + 35%increased

=> 300 + 105

=> 405pounds.

Therefore the farmer produces 405pounds corn in the second month.
