Answer:

The contents of the two pots should be mixed by the ratio 44:91

Step-by-step explanation:

  • 1st pot: Lets assume x liter mixture of 1st pot is taken.

                    In x liter amount of milk = \frac{3x}{8} and amount of water = \frac{5x}{8}

  • 1nd pot: Lets assume y liter content of 2nd pot is taken.

                    In y liter amount of milk = \frac{6y}{7} and amount of water = \frac{y}{7}

  • Total amount of milk = \frac{3x}{8} + \frac{6y}{7} = \frac{21x+48y}{56}

         and total amount of water = \frac{5x}{8} + \frac{y}{7} = \frac{35x+8y}{56}

  • Ratio:

                      \frac{21x+48y}{35x+8y} = \frac{7}{3}

                      63x + 144y = 245x + 56y

                      182x = 88y

                      91x = 44y

                     x:y = 44: 91
