Given :- , (+3) marks are award for a correct answer and (-1) marks for a worng answer . Rajeev got a total of 20 marks .

To Find :- If he answer 12 questions correctly, them how many question did he answer wrong ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, rajeev answered x question wrong.

so,

→ Total question he answered correctly = 12

and,

→ Total Marks marks for each correct answer = (+3)

then,

→ Total marks scored by rajeev for correct answer = 12 * 3 = 36 marks .

now,

→ Total question he answered wrong = x

and,

→ Total Marks marks for each wrong answer = (-1)

then,

→ Total marks scored by rajeev for wrong answer = x * (-1) = (-x) marks .

A/q,
