In order to fix a wooden handle to an iron blade small holes and drilled on it. Why are the holes are made smaller in size?write in 10 lines

Explanation:

The hole are made smaller in size, this is because, if they were made to be of the correct size then after heating of the iron blade ,the rivets that bind the knife to the handle  would fall off thus the blade would fall off . they are made small in size ,so that in case the blade expands the rivets will fit correctly and not fall off.
