It should not be done. KOH should be kept in test tube inside the conical flask containing germinating seed

KOH (Potassium hydroxide) is the compound which absorbs all the CO2 released during respiration in the germinating seeds.
And during the experiment to show this, that CO2 is necessary, water level will rise in the bent tube due to vaccuum created in the conical flask.
