In order to reduce the pollution in river Ganga an ambitious plan called  

     GANGA  ACTION  PLAN was launched in 1985. It is aimed to reduce the pollution level in the river .However the increasing population and industrialization have already damaged the river . 

On the basis of the above passage answer the following questions

What are the factors responsible for pollution of water?

How would the disposal of garbage affect the living organisms in the river?
