Answer ⇒ Option (b). Apply the brakes hard enough to Just Prevents Skidding.

Explanation ⇒ In order to stop the car in shortest distance, one need to apply the brakes which can be applied in different manners.

Now, If the Brakes will be applied hard enough so that friction will be the limiting friction, as a result of which the boy will not skid but it will provide a deacceleration to the car.

Due to which car will stop without skidding.

Hence, option (c). is the correct answer.

Hope it helps .
