In terms of personal opinion, I feel that lord Ullin's daughter was not right in her decision to defy her father and set for a new life with her lover. This is somehow imaged and significant in the poem as well.
God even seemed to be dissatisfied with her decisions and these are signified by the turbulent nature of winds, the wrath of the sea waters. They were not cooperating with the two lovers to go away and lead a happy life.
Lord Ullin's daughter was under a constant fear that her lover would be killed by the men of her father if they succeeded to get him on hand. However she should have tried for some reconciliation rather than fleeing away with her lover.
