In Palampur, Green Revolution brought loss of soil fertility and increased use of tube well

irrigation has reduced the water table below the ground. What is your opinion about

Green Revolution and the agricultural practices in Palampur?​

1) Due to increase use of chemical fertilizers the fertility of the soil is decreasing.

2) The HYV seeds need plenty of water and also chemical fertilizers.

3) Also continuous use of groundwater for tubewell irrigation has reduced the water  table below the ground.

4) Overuse of chemical fertilizers has also polluted the groundwater, rivers and lakes.

5) Higher production is possible only from a combination of HYV seeds, irrigation, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, etc.
