It is true that in para virtualization guest OSes run in isolation.


Para virtualized AMIs have been well known to support only Linux.


A guest OS ensures that it is in a virtualised state.  


Taking advantage of hardware extensions like GPU, networking and many more remains a big challenge in this case.
