Using the formula of area of parallelogram,
 \frac{1}{2}  \times ab \times altitude1 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times ad \times altitude2 \\ab \times altitude1 =     ad \times altitude2 \\ 10 \times 7 = ad \times 8 \\ ad =  \frac{70}{8}  =  \frac{35}{4}  = 8.75

Thank you for asking this question. Here is your answer:

AB = 10 cm

DE = 7 cm

BF = 8 cm

Now the area of parallelogram  = base x corresponding height

AD x BF = AB x DE

AD x 7 =  10 x 8

AD = (10*7) / 8

AD = 70/8

= 8.7 cm
