first find the area of //gm by base×height
i.e. 18×6.4 =115.2 cm sq.
now, to find AM then the statement becomes
12×AM =115.2
=>AM= 115.2/12
AM= 9.6cm

"There will be two right angled triangle namely triangle ADL and triangle ABM.

You can prove that the two triangle are similar to each other by using the properties, after that with the help of similarities, AL is in proportion to AM as AD is to AB

AL/AM = AD/AB

12/18 = 6.4/x

12 x = 18 * 6.4

12 x = 115.2

X = 115.2/12

X = 9.6 cm
