In parallelogram opposite angles are equal so

5x - 40 =  =3x + 10 \\ 5x - 3x = 40 + 10 \\ 2x = 50 \\ x = 25

In parallelogram ABCD,

angle A = angle C (opposite angles of a parallelogram are congruent)

therefore,

5x - 40=3x+10

5x-3x =10+40

2x =50

x =

\binom{50}{2}

x=25

Therefore x=25
