Third degree burn is the most severe type of burn in which skin cells burned completely. The epidermis destroyed and the burned area turns black or white and will be dry or leathery in texture.

In third degree burn, the damage even extends to the subcutaneous level. There is no pain or any feel because of the pain receptors are damaged.
