In pea plants, the colour of the flower is either violet or white, whereas human skin colour shows many gradations. Explain giving reasons how it is possible.

this is because human skin colour is controlled by a gene that shows multiple allelism.
there are 3 alleles of the gene controlling human skin colour where as in case of pea plant multiple allelism does not exist. it has only two alleles for flower colour.
