in physics how can you say the distance between earth and sun is this this much light years , did scientists measured it by a measuring tape , how can they blindly say that abc light years is the distance between earth and sun​

That's true but the light year means that in a year how much distance can light travel

That's why they told this ... Now if light takes 8min to be come from sun to earth then , by this light and distance relation they can find this ...
