A plant takes glucose as it's food. The extra glucose is converted to starch and that starch is stored on the plant. But, when the plant runs out of food, it uses it's stored form of food,I.e. starch and converts it into glucose so the plant can utilize that glucose. So the condition is when plant runs out of food.
