the bulk movement of substances through conducting vascular tissues of plants are called as translocation the vascular tissues means is xylem and phloem . the upward movement of water occurs through xylem and thyroids it is under influence of pulling force produced due to transpiration what is called as transpiration pull . phloem transport food mainly in the form of sucrose from source to singer sucrose and think maybe reversal based on the season of the plants requirement as source sink relationship variable and direction the movement of phloem is bidirectional in contrast to xylem in which it is unidirectional phloem SAP mainly consists of water Anshu Cruise but other Sugars amino acids and hormones are also translocated
