Such a situation exists because of the ever changing times and the inability of a person to keep up with the present day scenario. Such a situation cannot be avoided but can be countered when there is proper communication and transparence between the parent and child or whoever is concerned. Being uncommunicative and distant only increases the rift and it only gets harder to bridge the gap.
