In ∆PQR, angle R = 90°

we have the value of sin ∅ = 1/2

by applying the use of appropriate formula we can find out cos ∅ very easily as well as less time taking!!

Sin²∅ + cos²∅ = 1

=> ( 1/2 )² + cos²∅ = 1

=> 1/4 + cos²∅ = 1

=> cos²∅ = 4 - 1 = 3/4

therefore cos ∅ = √3/4 = √3/2

we got the value of cos ∅

= 3 cos ∅ - 4 cos³ ∅

= 3 × √3/2 - 4 × ( √3/2 )³

= 3√3/2 - 4 × 3√3/8

= 3√3/2 - 3√3/2

= 0
