To preview the animation, click the Play button Play Button on the ... Button . PowerPoint applies all of your changes to all of the slides.

There are three ways in which you can start a slide show:
(1) Select View menu < Slide Show.
(2) You can click on the projector button that is there on the lower left part of the screen. By clicking the projector button you can start a slide show from a slide other than the main slide. All the other methods to start the presentation always begin from the first slide only.
(3) Hit the F5 Key. Out of the three ways, the ideal one is the third one.
It is usually recommended that you use the keyboard shortcuts rather than the mouse to go through a show while making a presentation.
The reason for it is that the method can be faster and can make you look knowledgeable and comfortable as a presenter.
Therefore, you can create a better impression on your audience.
Due to this reason, even though you can use the mouse to use the Show Controls Menu, it is a good idea to use the following shortcuts:
(i) For going to a next slide: Press the SPACE BAR, ENTER, PAGE DOWN, or right arrow key.
(ii) For going to a previous slide: Press BACKSPACE, PAGE UP, or the left arrow key.
(iii) For exiting a slide show: hit Esc
(iv) For using the pen tool for drawing on the screen: CTRL + P
(v) For using the erase pen: hit E
(vi) For hiding the pointer: hit A
