in purification of metals it is recomemnded to use the impure metals the anode and the pure metal as the cathode. why not in the other way.

it is because anode is negative charge so metal attract on it if we take anode as impure metal the free metal atoms get attract on it so we take pure metal as anode to get more pure metal atoms to get attract on it
