By Pythagoras theorem,

(Hypotenuse)² =

(Base)² + (perpendicular)²

so,

(Perpendicular)² =

(Hypotenuse)² - (base)²

Answer:

According to Pythagoras Theorem

  {hypo}^{2}  =  {side1}^{2} +   {side2}^{2}

Therefore

 {perendicular}^{2}  =  {hypo}^{2}  -  {base}^{2}
