In real life, objects never travel with uniform velocity, even on a horizontal surface, unless
something is done? Why is it so ? What is to be done?

Answer:

Explanation:

yes , in real life most objects dont travel with uniform velocity this is because force ( a acceleration causing action ) causes it do decelerate or accelerate . we can nullify this force by opposing it with some equal and opposite force .

For example lets put a wooden block and place it on a table and and move it , now when the block is moving friction causes acceleration in the backward direction ( deceleration  ) ( friction is also a force  ) .  But if we apply force with our hand that is equal and opposite to the friction while the block is moving then there is no net acceleration and hence the moving body will start moving uniformly ( uniform velocity ) without any  hindrance in its velocity or speed .

..... that about it .

Answer:

Explanation:Yes, it is true that object never travels with uniform-velocity in real life. It is so because many unbalanced forces acts upon the object due to which its velocity changes. Gravitational force, frictional force etc. are responsible for this change in velocity.

To make the object move in uniform velocity we have to put a force equal to amount of unbalanced force acting on object so that there creates a balanced force and object will move in a uniform velocity.
