Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth's surface.

B. Effects that scientists had predicted in the past would result from global climate change are now occurring: loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves.

CO2 is one the greenhouse gases that contribute to the disastarous phenomenon,Global Warming. These gases have the ability to trap heat within the Earths atmosphere instead of letting it escape into space hence leading to a global rise in temperature

Effects of global warming:

1. Rise in temperatures

2. Rise in sea levels

3. Droughts

4. Wild fires
