In rectangle Abcd ,if ab 5cm and bc12cm ,then find diagonal bd.

as it is a rectangular, it's all angle is 90'.so diagonal bd is 13 cm

In rectangle ABCD,

in triangle ABC,( AC is the diagonal)

BY pythagoras theorem,

AC^2 = AB^2 + BC^2

= (5)^2 + (12)^2

= 25 + 144

therefore, AC^2 = 169

Hence, AC (diagonal) =13cm.

similarly, BD Is also an diagonal of rectangle ABCD

therefore, AC = BD = 13cm.
