At resonance the capacitive and inductive reactances are, by definition of resonance, equal but of opposite sign.

So, above resonance the net reactance will be inductive.

If the reactance varies with frequency,then the impedance of the circuit also changes.

If the impedance of the circuit changes, then the current in the circuit also changes.
