Concepts to know before answering this question

Pythogoras Property/Theorem.

Answer

In ΔABC

∠B = 90°

AB = 4

BC = 3

AC = ?

Since one angle is 90°, we use "Pythagoras Property" to find the value of it.

According to the Pythagoras Property,

Hypotenuse² = Base² + Altitude²

              AC² = AB² + BC²

              AC² = 4² + 3²

              AC² = 16 +  9

              AC² = 25

               AC = √25

              AC = 5       (5² = 25)

Therefore the length of AC is 5
