let the one side be x and other side y

x-y=2

y=x-2

by Pythagoras theorem

x^2+(x-2)^2=10^2

x^2+x^2+4-4x=100

2x^2-4x=96

2x^2-4x-96=0

2[ x^2 -2x-48]

2(x+6) (x-8)

therefore x could be 16 or - 12

and x-2 could be 14 or - 14
