In R.K. Narayan's "A Horse and two goats",the author has indeed shown how two people of completely different backgrounds and languages when try to communicate the humor it creates is comical . His dialogue with the tourist is sincere but amusing at the same time since neither understands the other. The only connection that is made which also ends in misunderstanding is that the American wants to buy the statue but Muni thinks he wants the goats.
