let the total number of friends be x

$10\% \: of \: x = 3$

$\frac{10}{100} \times x = 3$

$\frac{1}{10} \times x = 3$

$x = 3 \times \frac{10}{1}$

$= > x = 30$

therefore the total number of friends Rohan have =30
