In Rutherford experiment,generally the thin foil of heavy atom,like gold,platinum etc.have been used to be bombarded by the alpha partical. If the thin foil of light atom like aluminum etc.is used,what difference would be observed from the above results?

If the atoms are solid throughout their volume, then the alpha particles striking them should have changed their paths and get deflected
