In rutherford's experiment, generally the thin foil of heavy atoms like gold, platinum etc. Have been used to be bombarded by the -particles. If the thin foil of light atoms like aluminium etc. Is used, what difference would be observed from the above results?

It depends on the thickness of the aluminium foil. If it is the same thickness of gold, then the similar observations can be seen. But since gold has the highest malleability, gold foil is chosen.
