Answer:

percentage of students playing both is 28%

Step-by-step explanation:

let A and B be the both set of students play football and cricket respectively.

then n(A) = 40    n(B) = 50    n(A∪B) = 18

n(A∪B) = n(A) + n(B) - n(A∩B)

18 = 40 + 50 - n(A∩B)

18 - 90 = - n(A∩B)

n(A∩B) = 72

the percentage of students who play football or cricket or neither both = 72%

therfore the percentage f the students playing both is = 100 - 72 = 28%
