let the no. of boys =y

x=y+50   (bcoz the number of girls is 50 more than the number of boys)

x-y=50-----------1

x+y=1070-------2

x-y=50

x+y=1070

2x=1120

x=1120/2

x=560

let substituting the value of eq.1

x-y=50

560-y=50

-y=50-560

-y= -510

y=510

so, we get

the number of girls = x

so we get the value of x= 560 girls

if add

=560+510

=1070
