In science class, Maria observes that a white-colored flower has shades of red when it’s watered with red-colored water. She forms a hypothesis that the color reaches the flower through the stem. What should Maria do to confirm the hypothesis?

Maria should carry out an experiment to see if her hypothesis is correct.

Maria should obtain the stem with a flower from the plant.

This she does by cutting the stem from the plant.

She should ensure that the stem she has cut contains a white flower.

She should then obtain the red - colored water in a jar or a basin.

Maria should then put the cut stem into the red colored water.

Once this is done ,Maria should keep this jar in a shade and give it time for her to obtain the results.

If the flowers gets some red sheds then the hypothesis holds.

However if the flower remains white then we reject the hypothesis.
