Very Good question. Thanks For asking !!!!!.

Jill needs to classify these solids like brass, bronze, and steel as Homogeneous  mixture-- Solid in Solid

Explanation :

1.
Brass is a mixture of copper and Zinc which is considered as Solid in Solid.

2.
A homogeneous mixture is the one which has a uniform composition thought its mass
.3.  The components are cannot be distinguished from one another.

4.  Homogeneous mixtures are also called as true solution.

She can easily classify these solid material  as
"Homogeneous mixture "
Homogeneous  mixture are those  mixture in which you find the same proportions of components which it is containing through out the given sample or mass.
And because brass is composed of 2 elements that are copper and zinc and are found as solid mixture through the mass it is  recognized as the homogeneous mixture
Similarly steel is a also a example of homogeneous mixture of different elements
