Because if one device fails or stop , the current will stop flowing in th whole circuit and that is not good . So, we prefer parallel combination for our houses . so that if one device fails , current will keep flowing in the circuit

Series arrangement is not used in domestic circuit because :-

• If ine appliance stops working, then all the appliances also stop working.
• All appliances have only one switch, due to which they cannot be turned ON or OFF separately.
• All appliances do not get the same voltage.
• The overall resistance of the circuit increases too much, due to which the current from the power supply is low.
