in serve cold weather a family burnt wood in the room during the night by keeping the windows close after sometime they felt suffocated they immediately open the windows and got a relief why did actually happen

it happen because the woods started burning in the absence of oxygen and the gas is produced is carbon monoxide and this gas is harmful and causes suffocation as it block the supply of oxygen in the liver even causes death

This had happened because the windows were closed and there was no way for the smoke to come out, therefore that is why they felt suffocated..
