Fire needs oxygen to burn and we also need oxygen to live. If burning of wood takes place continuously then the oxygen level in the closed room will decrease because there is no supply of air from the outside environment. As a consequence we feel suffocated and we open the doors and windows to get relief so that some amount of oxygen come inside the room and we can breathe in fresh air.
