Answer:

Golden casket

Explanation:

Price of Morocco chooses the golden casket as gold is most valuable and so he thinks that the portrait of portia should be in the most valuable casket and not in dull lead or silver which is less precious than gold

The Prince of Morocco, finally, chooses the gold casket.

Reasons :

• He first reads the lead casket

The lead casket says - “He who chooses me must give and risk all he has.” Morocco interprets this in a wrong way and says that he would not risk everything for lead. He says that the lead casket is too threatening and that men who risk everything hope to make profits. He also says that since a golden mind does not bend down to choose something worthless, he won’t give or risk anything for lead.

Later on, he goes on to tell that it would be a sin even to think such a low thought (that Portia's portrait is in the lead cask) and that lead is too gross and dull to hold Portia.

• Next thing he reads the silver casket

It says - “Who chooseth me shall get as much as he deserves.”

He takes the word 'deserves' and says to himself that he should weigh his own value with an even hand. He first thinks that he deserves a lot— though maybe not enough to include Portia. Later he feels that fearing he doesn't deserve Portia is a way of underestimating himself. He then tells himself that he deserves Portia by birth, in terms of wealth, talents, and upbringing, and especially love.

He has half a mind now to choose the silver casket, but on reading the inscription on the gold one - "Who chooses me shall gain what many men desire" he conclude that "what many men desires" is Portia and that since Portia aught not be kept in anything less than the most precious and since silver is ten times less valuable than gold, the prince decides to select the gold casket.

Hope this helps
