in single celled organisms diffusion is sufficient to meet all the requirements of food, exchange of gases and removal of wastes but this is not in case of multicellular organisms explain the reason for the difference

because multicellular organisms have complex body design and all the cells may not be in the direct contact with the surrounding environment.

This is because not all cells of multicellular organisms are in contact with the surrounding and cannot access all the required nutrients through the process of diffusion.
