Soldering and brazing involves the use of molten filler metal to wet and join two components (also called base metal) on solidification of the base metal. If the melting temperature of the filler metal is less than 450°C, joining process is called soldering.

In the electronics we use the melted soldering metal for joining different electrical components.

This soldering metal is made out of different metal and alloys.

The normal melting point of this soldering metal is between 350°C to 450°C.

(Some lead added soldering metals have comparatively lower melting points)
